- Local Storage Data: To provide a persistent experience, we store your trip data, including packing lists and preferences, in your web browser's local storage. This data remains on your device and is not automatically transmitted to our servers.

- To Provide and Personalize Our Services: We use your trip details to generate personalized packing lists. Your past trip data, stored locally, may be used to provide smarter suggestions over time.
- AI-Powered Features: To generate packing lists, provide weather forecasts, and retrieve airline baggage information, we send relevant trip details (like destination, dates, and airline name) to third-party generative AI models. We do not send personally identifiable information (like your name or email) to these models.
- To Improve Our Application: We analyze aggregated, non-identifiable usage data to understand how our users interact with PackSmart and to make improvements.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your trip data is stored in your browser's local storage. This means the data is kept on your device. While local storage is sandboxed within your browser, we recommend you take standard precautions to secure your device. You can clear your browser's local storage at any time to delete all your PackSmart trip data.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. We may share information under the following limited circumstances:
- With AI Service Providers: As mentioned, we share non-personally identifiable trip information with our AI service providers (e.g., Google) to enable the core functionality of our app. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies.

5. Your Data Rights and Choices
Because your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can view, edit, or delete your trips directly within the application. Deleting a trip removes it from your browser's local storage. You can also clear your browser's entire local storage for our site to remove all data permanently.
6. Children's Privacy
PackSmart is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
